In reference to Tina Campt’s notion of the lower frequencies of images, the series “Particles” interrogates two images, one of a Herero woman as photographed by a German colonial photographer at the beginning of the twentieth century, the other of a Ethopian woman as photographed by an Italian colonial photographer shortly before or after the Ethiopian-Italian war.
